The Neethlingshof Shiraz itself to gourmets in an dark ruby red. Fruity notes of a variety of red berries define the bouquet of this red wine. A poignant, smoky scent with light leather aromas rises into the gourmet’s nose. The fruity notes of ripe red berries are also noticeable on the palate. The Neethlingshof Shiraz is a very rich and elegant red that ends with a long, intense finish.

The Neethlingshof Shiraz is excellent in combination with poignant, savoury dishes such as stews. This red delicacy is also a good choice for the interplay with game or black olives. Also try it with grilled meat of all description!


Grape Variety

The Neethlingshof Shiraz consists of the grape variety Shiraz which belongs to the most important grape varieties worldwide. In France, this vine is called Syrah and is responsible for full-bodied, strong red wines with the aromas of black fruits there. In South Africa, this variety is called Shiraz and mostly delivers mature, intense and fruity red wine.


The Winery

The estate Neethlingshof is a member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative. This means that the winery is dedicated to the protection and preservation of South Africa’s nature. In harmony with nature and due to excellent climatic conditions, the estate produces new premium wines year after year. It also foregoes the use of pesticides which benefits the quality products such as the Neethlingshof Shiraz.


Storage

The winemakers let the Neethlingshof Shiraz mature in French and American oak barrels for fourteen months. This noble red is already excellent when opened today yet only during some years in the cellar it will develop its full, unique character.
