The Wine in Detail
The Neethlingshof Pinotage flows with an intense ruby red colour and slightly purple speckles into the glass. Rich aromas of ripe banana and plum as well as poignant notes of cinnamon rise into the gourmet’s nose. These aromas continue on the palate; intense berry nuances perfect the taste adventure. The Neethlingshof Pinotage ends with a great balance between strong tannins and fruity notes.

Grape Variety
The Neethlingshof Pinotage consists of the grape variety Pinotage which is also known as South Africa’s national grape. It originated from a cross between the grape varieties Pinot Noir and Cinsault. The sweetness and the berry aromas of Pinot Noir are combined with the fruity flavour of Cinsault.

The Winery
With more than 300 years of history, the winery Neethlingshof is one of the oldest wineries in the wine-producing region Stellenbosch. This region is popular amongst tourists and wine lovers alike. Day after day, many people visit the estate and marvel at the old manor house in a classic Cape Dutch style yet also the premium wines like the Neethlingshof Pinotage know how to impress: every year, the winery receives many prizes for its high quality bottles.

Storage
The Neethlingshof Pinotage matured in French and American oak barrels for nine months. It is a true pleasure when opened today yet connoisseurs let the fruity bottle mature in the cellar for a few years so that the Neethlingshof Pinotage can develop its full character.
