The Wine in Detail


The Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer flows in a bright straw yellow colour which is interspersed with green speckles into the gourmet’s glass. Aromas of Turkish sweets and roses fill the air, followed by light honey notes and a hint of jasmine. These nuances continue on the palate; tropical fruits such as lychee supportively come along. The tongue tastes a medium dry white wine with a poignant character before the Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer ends with a crisp finish.

The Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer tastes excellent just on its own yet it is also a good choice for accompanying light Asian food as well as fish dishes. This unusual wine excellently harmonies with fruity desserts, too.

The Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer consists of the grape variety Gewürztraminer. This variety can easily be recognized due to its aromas of lychee and roses. It produces golden-yellow whites with a poignant character. Especially in Italy, this vine is very popular yet it also enjoys growing popularity at the Cape.



The Winery


The winery Neethlingshof is one of the oldest wineries in South Africa and can look back on more than 300 years of history. This estate covers more than 273 hectares and is located in the Stellenbosch region which is especially famous for its excellent premium wines. Being a member of the Biodiversity & Wine Initiative, the winery attaches great importance to the protection and preservation of South Africa’s nature. You can taste this commitment with every of the high quality bottles of the yard, such as the Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer; all estate wines feature this unique South African character.



Storage


The Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer matured in steel containers in order to keep its natural character. It is ready to be enjoyed right away and therefore a true pleasure; yet even after few years in the cellar, you will still be able to experience its fruity character.
