The Wine in Detail
You will not forget the Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon if you have had it once: when pouring, it already entices with its powerful purple colour. Intense Aromas of delicious cassis, plums and cedar adorn the nose. On the palate, this full-bodied red wine reveals the well-known wood and tobacco aromas. The tannins are clearly noticeable without being too rough. The Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon ends with a long finish which creates an appetite for more.

Goes with …
We recommend enjoying a Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon with dark meat and game dishes. It is also an excellent choice with poignant cheese and some pasta dishes.

Grape Variety
Cabernet Sauvignon is famous for its strong tannins and a rough body. All the better that the Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon does feature power and richness yet is harmonious when it comes to its aromas and structure. This variety is not for nothing considered to be one of the best worldwide and delivers absolute top wines year after year.

The Winery
Meerlust is known for its grand red wines; the Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon seamlessly adheres to this success story. Originally, the winery became famous for its Rubicon, the first red blend from South Africa. With the Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon, the winemakers prove that they are just as capable to create unique single-variety wines.

Storage
The Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon matured in oak barrels for 20 months. It is a powerful pleasure when opened right away yet patient gourmets give it 4 to 8 years in order to reach perfect harmony.
