The Wine in Detail
The Môreson Knoputibak flows with a pale straw golden yellow colour into the glass. Aromas of dried apricots and oranges fill the air, supported by fine almond and hazelnut notes. On the palate, these nuances of tropical fruits and spices continue and rich aromas of stone fruit, particularly pineapple and pear become apparent. Traces of nutmeg and cinnamon make for the poignancy of the complex and clearly structured Môreson Knoputibak.

Goes with…
The Môreson Knoputibak goes well with dishes with light meat or chicken and a generous use of spices suits this wine well.

Grape Variety
The winemakers used the two grape varieties Chardonnay and Sémillon for the Môreson Knoputibak. The former constitutes the larger part in this blend and for many gourmets, Chardonnay is the white variety per se when a full-bodied and creamy white wine is required. Fruity, often tropical nuances are as typical for this vine as sweet honey notes. A creamy up to buttery impression on the tongue joins, as well as a soft finish with a modest acidity. Sémillon often features aromas of yellow fruits and caramel and is very suited for blends with Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay, just like the Môreson Knoputibak proves.

The Winery
Môreson is a family-run winery in Franschhoek and is located approximately an hour away from Cape Town on the Happy Valley Road. The beautiful surroundings make the estate a little retreat from the hectic everyday life. The four children of the Friedman family have grown up at the farm and later started managing it. They are not only passionate about good wine and good food, but also animals – the Miss Molly range is named after the pet dog – and support their cause, which becomes apparent with the commitment in several organisations (like The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind und Animal in Distress).

The Môreson Knoputibak spent eleven months in French oak which is why you can either store it for a few years or enjoy it right away.
