La Motte Winery Offers More than Wine
The La Motte estate expands its standards of premium wine to adjacent culinary and cultural areas. Visitors can enjoy traditional dishes with a modern touch in the yard-owned restaurant, and of course try one or more La Motte wines with it. A museum exhibits the moving history of the vineyard, and regular musical events add to the cultural offerings.
La Motte with Sustainable Wine Cultivation
The vineyard La Motte is involved in environment protection and gentle cultivation. This is how the winemakers preserve the natural flora of South Africa, especially Fynbos. They exclusively use organic methods on the wine slopes. La Motte is also a member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative and therefore forgoes the use of herbicides and pest control as far as possible.
The grapes for the maturing process originate from the own cultivation areas and from surrounding partner wineries. This is how the winemakers can ensure a constant high quality and experiment with different terroirs at the same time. The vineyard La Motte also unites traditional cultivation methods with modern cellar technology, which can be tasted with every sip.
