Warm cheese-garlic spread from the oven

Ingredients: 1 clove of garlic, ½ onion, cherry tomatoes, 1 cup of sour cream or cream cheese, 6 tbsp mayonnaise, 200 g grated mozzarella, 20 g grated Parmesan, salt, pepper and chilli flakes to taste

For garnish: fresh parsley and basil

To serve: toasted bread

Finely chop and fry half the onion, chop the garlic clove as well. Mix the sour cream or alternatively the cream cheese with the mayonnaise. Now mix the grated cheese with the onions, garlic and sauce. Season with salt, pepper and chilli flakes and pour into a baking dish. Wash and quarter the cherry tomatoes and spread over the mixture. Drizzle with olive oil and then bake in the oven at 175 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes. Garnish the warm spread with parsley and basil and serve with toasted bread.

Our wine recommendation

This delicious spread with toasted bread is simply wonderful with a nice red wine. The Alto Rouge 2019, with its fruity, spicy and mineral notes, goes particularly well with cheese. The Alto Shiraz 2018 or the Alto Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 are also good choices, as they are perfect with spicy and Mediterranean dishes and therefore harmonise very well with the flavours of the warm spread.
