Mediterranean from the Cape: MCC Brut Meets Lemon Liqueur with Basil

Ingredients for 8 glasses: 80 ml lemon liqueur, 8 stalk tips of basil, fresh mint, 1 bottle MCC Brut

Preparation: Distribute the lemon liqueur into the glasses (10ml per glass), sink the basil tips into the liqueur and let sit. The basil can turn brown with time but you don’t need to worry about that. Before serving, remove the herbs and fill up the glasses with dry sparkling wine. Decorate the glasses with fresh mint.

Our Wine Recommendation

Try this delicious sparkling wine creation best with a Méthode Cap Classique from the Cape, for example with the Anthonij Rupert L’Ormarins Brut Classique. With its citrus aromas, its light minerality and the fine mousse, it is made for this Mediterranean cocktail variant. This also applies to the Graham Beck Cap Classique Brut. Its elegance makes it the perfect companion for special occasions – make a mild summer evening a special moment with this sparkling wine. Or how about the fresh Klein Constantia Méthode Cap Classique Brut? Its nuances of brioche and apples skillfully complement the Mediterranean character of the cocktail as well as its mineral note, the crisp acidity and the fine perlage. Of course, you can also make the delicious drink with your favorite sparkling wine.
